Oilseed pretreatment involves a series of processing steps conducted before oil extraction. The fundamental processes include cleaning, shelling/peeling, crushing/softening/flaking, and cooking/expansion. The objective is to remove various impurities from the oilseeds and adjust their moisture and temperature to facilitate the oil pre-pressing and solvent extraction.
